Renting a dumpster in Naples

Marco Island is its own incorporated city with separate right-of-way rules, while Bonita Springs and Estero sit across the county line in Lee County and route to a different disposal system altogether.

Putting a container in the street is a different matter. Inside Naples city limits, anything placed in the public right-of-way falls under the city's right-of-way permitting rules under Ordinance 08-12285, handled by the Streets & Stormwater Department. In unincorporated Collier County, including North Naples, Golden Gate, and East Naples, right-of-way work goes through the county's own permit process, and Marco Island runs a third system under its Ordinance 15-18. None of these publish a dumpster-specific rule, which is exactly why it pays to ask. Collier County's Solid & Hazardous Waste Management Division runs disposal on this side of the county line, and the workhorse facility is the Collier County Landfill on White Lake Boulevard, a lined Class I landfill operated by Waste Management under county contract. Debris from Bonita Springs and Estero falls under Lee County's system instead, centered on the waste-to-energy Resource Recovery Facility at the Buckingham campus in Fort Myers.
