Effective date: September 9, 2026
American Dumpsters is a roll-off dumpster company based in St. Petersburg, Florida. This policy explains what information we collect when you use american-dumpsters.com, call us, or book a rental, what we do with it, and how to reach us about it.
We have written this to describe what actually happens, not what sounds best. If you find something here that does not match your experience with us, tell us and we will fix the practice or fix the policy.
The most important thing to know: we share your details with your hauler
American Dumpsters arranges dumpster rentals. We do not own the trucks and we do not run the landfill. Licensed independent hauling companies deliver your container, pick it up, and dispose of the load.
That means when you book, we give your information to the hauling company assigned to your job. There is no way to deliver a dumpster to your address without telling the driver your address. What we send the hauler is your order number, the dumpster size, the delivery date, the service address, any placement instructions you gave us, your name, your phone number, your email address, and any additional service you asked us to quote. We do not send them your payment card.
If you want to know which hauling company is handling your specific order, call or text us and we will tell you.
What we collect
When you book a rental. Your name, service address, billing address, phone number, email address, the delivery date you pick, the dumpster size, and any notes you write about where to place the container. If you use the placement map, we store the location you selected.
When you start a booking and do not finish it. Our checkout saves what you type as you type it, so whatever you entered before you left is kept even though no order was placed. That is usually your email address, your name, your phone number, the service address, and the size and delivery date you had selected. We also record the internet address and the device you were using. It is never your card number, which only ever goes to Stripe. We keep it for two reasons: so you can pick up where you left off instead of starting again, and so we can email you a reminder that your booking is still saved. That reminder may include a discount code. You will get at most two of them, and every one carries an unsubscribe link that stops them for good. We do not send an unfinished checkout to a hauler, because there is no job to dispatch. You can ask us to delete yours at any time, as described under your choices and your rights below.
When you request a quote or ask us to call you. Your name, phone number, email address, the service you are asking about, your ZIP code and city, whatever you type into the message box, which page you were on, and the IP address the request came from.
When you pay. Your card is handled by Stripe, our payment processor. Your full card number does not pass through our servers and we do not store it. Stripe returns a payment token plus limited details such as the card brand and the last four digits, and that is what we keep so we can bill authorized post-rental charges under the Rental Agreement. Stripe processes your payment data under its own privacy policy.
When you join our email list. Your email address, the IP address the signup came from, and which form you used. You get a discount code in return.
When you call us or we call you. See the next section.
Automatically, when you browse the site. Your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you view, how you got here, and cookie identifiers. See the analytics section.
Phone calls are recorded
We use CallRail, a call-tracking service. Two things follow from that.
First, the phone number displayed on our website changes depending on how you found us. That is how we tell which advertising and which pages actually generate calls. CallRail sets a cookie and records which source, campaign, and page you came from, and ties that to your call.
Second, calls to and from American Dumpsters are recorded. Recordings, and any transcripts made from them, are stored by CallRail on our behalf along with your phone number, the time and length of the call, and the number you dialed.
Florida law requires that everyone on a call consent before it is recorded. You will hear a notice at the start of the call telling you it is being recorded. If you do not want to be recorded, hang up and text us or email us instead, and we will handle your request that way with no disadvantage to you.
We keep recordings only as long as we need them for training, quality, and resolving disputes about what was agreed. If you want your recording deleted, ask us and we will delete it unless we are required to keep it for a pending dispute.
Session replay and analytics, including at checkout
We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how people use this site. Clarity records what are called session replays: mouse movement, clicks, scrolling, which pages you view, your device and browser, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. It also builds heatmaps of where people click.
Clarity runs on every page of this site, including the checkout page. We are telling you that plainly because it is true and because most sites do not.
What Clarity does and does not capture at checkout:
- Anything you type into an input box or select from a dropdown is masked by Microsoft by default, on every setting, and that masking cannot be switched off.
- Your card number, expiry, and security code are entered in a frame hosted by Stripe, not by us.
Microsoft states that Clarity retains session playback for thirty days, and retains labeled or favorited sessions and heatmap data for nine months.
We also use WooCommerce Order Attribution, which is built into our store software. It records against each order how you arrived: the referring website, and the campaign tags in the link you clicked, such as utm_source, utm_medium, and utm_campaign. We use it to work out which marketing is worth paying for.
Advertising. We run Google Ads conversion tracking on this site, and Google sets cookies here. If you arrive from one of our ads, we store the click identifier Google adds to the link, along with any campaign tags in it, in a cookie on your device for 90 days, and we attach it to your order if you book. We report three things back to Google: that someone started a checkout, that someone asked for a quote, and that someone completed a booking. Google may also match a booking to an ad using a scrambled, one way version of contact details you enter, which cannot be turned back into your email address or phone number. All of this is available to Google for its own purposes, which some state privacy laws describe as “sharing” your information for advertising even though no money changes hands.
Other parties may collect information about you across websites and over time. CallRail, Microsoft, and Google set their own cookies and identifiers on this site, and they operate across many other websites. We do not control what those companies do with information they collect.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal or a Global Privacy Control signal. We do not currently respond to either one. If that changes, we will say so here.
Who we share information with, and who we do not
We share personal information with:
- The independent hauling company assigned to your order, as described above, so your dumpster can actually be delivered and picked up.
- Stripe, to take your payment and to bill authorized post-rental charges.
- CallRail, for call tracking and recording.
- Microsoft, through Clarity, for site analytics and session replay.
- Google, once ad tracking is live, as described above.
- Our email and hosting providers, which process messages and data on our behalf.
- Professional advisers, such as our accountant or a lawyer, where needed.
- Government or courts, where a law, subpoena, or court order requires it, or where we need to establish or defend a legal claim.
- A buyer or successor, if the business or a part of it is ever sold or transferred.
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do not rent or trade our customer list. We do not send your information to data brokers.
We ask our vendors and haulers to use your information only to do the job we hired them for. We do not authorize them to use it for their own marketing.
How long we keep things
- Booking, order, and payment records: for as long as we need them for accounting, tax, warranty, and dispute purposes. In practice that is several years after your rental ends.
- Quote requests and leads: for as long as they are useful for following up and for understanding demand, and then we delete them.
- Unfinished checkouts: we keep these so you can come back to them and so we can send the reminders described above. Ask us and we will delete yours.
- Call recordings: as described in the call recording section above.
- Session replay and analytics: on Microsoft’s schedule stated above. We do not keep our own copy.
- Email list: until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.
How we protect it
The site runs over an encrypted connection. Card data is handled by Stripe, which specializes in it, and we do not hold your full card number. Access to customer records in our systems is limited to the people who need it to run the business.
We cannot promise that any system is impossible to breach, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. If we ever learn of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you as the law requires.
Children
This site is meant for adults arranging dumpster rentals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under thirteen. If you are between thirteen and seventeen, please use this site only with a parent or guardian involved. If you believe a child under thirteen has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices and your rights
Whether or not a state privacy law happens to apply to a business our size, we will do all of the following for anyone who asks:
- See what we have. Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct it. Tell us something is wrong and we will fix it.
- Delete it. Ask us to delete your information. We will, except where we have to keep a record for tax, accounting, or a live dispute, and we will tell you if that is the case.
- Stop marketing. Unsubscribe from any email we send, including the reminders about an unfinished booking, or just tell us to stop.
- Delete a call recording. As described above.
To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below. We will need to confirm you are who you say you are before we hand over or delete records, usually by confirming details of an order you placed. We aim to respond within thirty days and we will tell you if we need longer.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will post the updated policy on this page and change the effective date at the top. Where the change is significant, such as turning on a new tracking or advertising tool, we will update this page before that change goes live. If you want to see what changed, ask us and we will tell you.
